Weeding Event

  • Laurel Historical Society 817 Main Street Laurel, MD, 20707 United States (map)

The false Spring is bringing with it a fresh crop of weeds to the new native garden at the Laurel Museum. Help us pick weeds from 12 to 2 pm on Sunday, March 5 so our new plants will have plenty of room to grow. We'll teach you how to identify the weeds (European non-natives) from our plantings (native to MD), and you can see how the garden is coming along since the Fall planting. Afterwards, you can stop in at the new museum exhibit "It's All Laurel" until 4pm.

What to bring: Garden gloves, weeding tools, small shovels, etc (some tools will be available to borrow)

Please note: All volunteers must sign liability waivers for the city and L4P, which we'll have at the work site. Students, including those needing community service hours, are welcome, but parents must sign waivers if under 18, and school paperwork should be provided on the event day.
